Job Summary:

Medical Assistant is an integral member of our care team and works closely with our Primary Care Provider to deliver quality patient care and exceptional experience. Medical Assistant is responsible for helping deliver primary, immediate, chronic and preventative care to patients. Medical Assistant may function in both front and back-office settings.

Position Available:

PRN (as needed): Availability as needed to help fill in for Medical Assistant staff when on PTO, sick leave, or during extra times of need, etc.

Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient vitals, reviews medications, allergies and new medical information and informs Provider.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Performs blood draws and basic laboratory tests. Coordinates activity with partner labs and ensures results are documented in EMR.
  • Give injections, bandage wounds and assist with procedures.
  • Prepares and administers approved medications under the guidance of the Provider.
  • Participates as a member of the care team to assist in developing individual care plans to promote health, reverse disease and address gaps in care.
  • Schedules appointments that may include annual wellness, follow-up, immediate care, occupational health and DOT physical visits.
  • Perform front desk duties including patient scheduling, documentation, check-in and check-out.
  • Coordinate specialist, diagnostic and therapy referrals outside of the clinic.
  • Promotes office discharge process including outside appointments, lab orders and prescriptions. Provides patients with instructions and/or prescriptions to appropriate facility or pharmacy.
  • Triages telephone calls for referral to Provider.
  • Document care and other relevant information in the EMR.
  • Process test results and provide the patient with timely results via text, email or phone as directed by the Provider.
  • Participates in outreach to patients to drive primary care engagement.
  • Follow-up on medical record requests.
  • Maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness of exam rooms.
Medical Assistant Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year as a Medical Assistant, preferably primary care/family practice
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • CPR/BLS Certification or willingness to obtain quickly
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
