Required Education:Bachelor’s Degree in health or health management related field

Required Experience: 1-3 years as a screener

Position Description:The Biometric Screener is afrontline wellness service delivery employee. The Biometric Screener is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of biometric screening services as well as patient education and instruction based on the results.

  • Ability to solve problems using common sense, and dealing with difficult situations
  • Knowledge of healthcare/health promotion
  • Above average computer knowledge
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and cultural sensitivity
  • The employee must be able to move up to 30 pounds on a routine basis and be able to stand and/or sit as needed for periods of time

Essential Responsibilities

Health Education Department

  • Arrive at client site at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the screening
  • Assist screening team with packing and unpacking, set up and tear down of screening equipment
  • Travel to client sites and stays overnight per client screening needs
  • Provide no less than 24-hour notice to supervisor if scheduled workday cannot be attended
  • Provide full lipid panel measurement via finger stick with detailed interpretation of results
  • Provide glucose and A1c measurement via finger stick with detailed interpretation of results
  • Provide blood pressure measurement and detailed interpretation of results
  • Provide body mass index calculation or body fat percentage and detailed interpretation of results
  • Analyze and incorporates screening participant’s HRA data into the health consultation
  • Provide consultation including nutrition, exercise, and stress as well as recommending appropriate lifestyle changes
  • Recruit participants into appropriate Verve Health programs and is up to date on clients specific services
  • Remind and reinforce all of Verve Health services to participants
  • Assists account management with delivery and implementation of services
  • Develop and foster Verve Health initiatives and new programs on a continual basis
  • Attend training and certifications based on Verve Health protocol
  • Stay up to date on current health trends
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of an office setting as well as a mobile on site screening clinic. Travel is required to and from client locations on a regular basis.
